How to Create a Lenovo Laptop Recovery Disc?

You can create a recovery disc for your Lenovo laptop and use that disc to boot your system. You just have to follow some few basic steps provided by Lenovo Support team in order to create this disc to boot your device.

Steps to Create the Recovery CD are as Follows:

  • Firstly, connect the USB drive from your system before booting as it can cause an error if connected while booting the system.
  • Then push the Windows key on the keyboard and click on Control panel to open it.
  • Then click on Recovery-> Advanced Recovery Tool-> Create a recovery drive to make the recovery media creation program. Then click on Yes when User account prompt appears on the screen.
  • If applicable, then check the ‘Copy the recovery partition from the PC to the Recovery drive’. This partition doesn’t come with your laptop.
  • The process will continue but the media will be a bootable image not a recovery image for your system. Bootable one will restore the window to a factory install state whereas Image one will flash windows back to a saved state so that you can retain your data.
  • Then select the USB flash drive from the list to start the creation process. It will take an hour to create
  • After completion of the process, select whether to delete the partition or not. Deleting partition will make the hard drive space free but reset your system if you delete the media. For this, close all the windows to remove the flash drive from your system.
